REALIZATION OF TEXT “SERAT WEDHATAMA” IN STUDENT BOOK HIGH SCHOOL FOR INTERNALIZATION CHARACTER EDUCATION

The background of this research is the realization of local high Javanese in student book high school that have not been in accordance with expectations as the pedagogical education basic of culture and character of the nation that outlined by the Curriculum Center. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the text of the Serat Wedhatama in the student book has been designed to train students to achieve the competence of the sphere of attitude, knowledge, and skills; and to find out whether the text of the Serat Wedhatama in the student book has been developed by internalizing character education. This research is a naturalistic-qualitative research with documentation technique. The data obtained through in-depth analysis and processed by comparative technique on the characterization of character education internalization in Indonesian / Javanese learning with its realization on student’s book. The conclusions of this research are: (1) the text of the Serat Wedhatama in students’ books has been designed so that the students are trained to attain the competence of attitudes, knowledge, and skills, and (2) eleven characters have been internalized in the discussion of the text of the Serat Wedhatama, one character developed destructively, and Two characters are not developed. Therefore, the student’s books need to be revised to fit expectations.
