IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER BERBASIS BUDAYA PADA PESERTA DIDIK USIA SEKOLAH DASAR

Character education is a form of education and teaching that focuses on the behavior and actions of learners in appreciating and implementing the values of character in their daily behavior. Implementation in character education in elementary school-age learners starts from cultivating, changing psychology, maturing feelings, thoughts, wills, and temperaments, and changing the personality of learners undertaken in the process of education and teaching. In realizing the character of a good child according to the corridor of cultural values, it is necessary the support of the main human resources, including teachers, parents, and the surrounding community. The role of teachers, parents of learners, and the role of the community environment, are the supporting factors as well as can make the inhibiting factors of the character formation of learners. Character education is not just teaching the right and wrong. Moreover, character education instills a habit of what is good so that learners become understandable (cognitive) about what is right and slah, mmapu feel (affective), good value and used to do it (psychomotor). In other words, character education emphasizes ongoing and sustainable habits practiced and practiced.
