ANALYTICAL REASONING OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BASED ON GENDER DIFFERENTATION

Reasoning is the basic aspect of mathematics. As thinking activity, reasoning has characteristics. One of that is analitics. Many theories stated that reasoning in male and female are distinct. This research aim is describing analitical reasoning skill of senior high school students based on gender differentation. To get data, researcher uses deep interview based on analitical reasoning problem which has been given. This research shows that gender contributes different characteristics in analitical reasoning. Male students see event at basic fact, like analyzing so that they are described as analyzing brain, using picture to represent their though, but they lack to find error and disposed to guess the answer of multiple choice test. Female student seeing event from global view, like synthesizing so that they are describe as synthesizing brain, using words to represent their though, have good skill to find error, and usually comparing the options at multiple choice test.
