PONDOK PESANTREN AS A EFFECTIVE EDUCATION

ABSTRACT
Pondok Pesantren is a native Islamic educational institution in Indonesia whose existence has been recognized since the entry of Islam to Indonesia. Its existence which has long made boarding school is very well known in the hearts of some Indonesian people as part of the history of the spread of Islam. The education based religious in pesantren has indirectly practiced strategies and techniques in instilling the values of the characters in the way and characteristics typical of pesantren. The aims of the study is describe the facts of education conducted in educational institutions of Pondok Pesantren Baiquniyyah as the development of the era. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with survey approach. The results concluded that education in Pondok Pesantren Baiquniyyah has undergone many changes by combining religious education and general (formal) education.
