ABSTRACT

This research aims at improving the teachers’ ability in designing Lesson Plan based on Curriculum 2013 through the use of Small Group Mentoring (SGM). This research was held in October 2016 to December 2016. The subjects of the research were 11 English teachers from four schools in Pleret, Bantul Yogyakarta. The research procedures consisted of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The main data were lesson plans made by the teachers while the supporting data were teachers’ participation in mentoring activities and teachers responses to the use of SGM in the mentoring process. The research results indicated: 1) the average grade of the lesson plans was 88,6; 2) the mastery learning was 100%, 3) the teachers participation in the activity was 90,9% and 4) the teachers positive responses was 92,%. From the research results and its discussion, the writer concluded that the use of Small Group Mentoring can improve teachers’ skill in developing lesson plan based on Curriculum 2013.
