ABSTRACT
This research aims to develop a set of Science Learning Materials based on Guided Inquiry Model that is feasible to improve students’ critical thinking skill. It is developed using Dick and Carey model through a try out-design namely one group pre-test – post-test design. It has been tried out to 47 students’ of IX-3 class at SMPN 3 Meulaboh in the second semester of 2016/2017 academic year in order to measure the aplicability of the lesson plans, learning obstacles, students’ learning achievement, students’critical thinking achievement, their responses to the learning materials develoved. The data collection used method: validation, observation, test, questionaries, and documentation. The data were analysed descriptively and quantitatively. The research findings show that the Science Learning Materials based on guided inquiry model were feasible to improve students’ critical thinking skill
Key Words: Learning Materials; Guided Inquiry; Critical Thinking Skills.
