KAWRUH PAMOMONG KI AGENG SURYOMENTARAM AS ONE OF THE CULTURAL CAPITAL IN EDUCATIONAL FIELD FROM INDONESIA

ABSTRACT Great nation is a nation that has a strong character that comes from the values which is excavated from the culture of their society. This research is conducted in order to explore and compare the cultures from various countries in the world that succeeded due to the culture and aims to introduce one of the cultural capital owned by the Indonesian nation in the field of education. Indonesia has an educational figure named Ki Ageng Suryomentaraman (KAS). KAS spark thoughts and teachings that are products of lokal knowledge or noble values of the nation in the form of “Kawruh Pamomong” that is how to educate a good child in accordance with the lokal values of Java community, especially the Special Region of Yogyakarta. These noble values are cultural capital or cultural capital that can be used to strengthen the nation’s character in the educational field.
